Missing my father.

I drew this tonight as I sat with Christmas movies, a lite tree near me and knowing it’s a little over a week till Christmas… while I want to give my family a great Christmas, we all feel the empty void that rests within each of us. A void that none of us can truly heal. The lost of my father eats away at us, and brings tears to our eyes everyday.

I know that my family is not alone with this lost feeling for the Holidays this year. So many have passed away this year, each of those souls have touched someone during their life that is missing them.

Holiday or not those souls live on within us. It’s okay to miss them, to let the tears flow. Some days are harder than others. Don’t trap those feelings inside, share and keep the memories alive.

Just remember you’re not alone. There’s still others here to lean on. For me I have my mother, my rock who I hold onto during my hardest days. My sister who stays by my side, we lean on each other through the challenges. I know I would not be where I am now, if I did not have both of them. These are the two whom remind me daily that there is still reasons to smile, laugh and push forward.

I have my moments… even now for sadness. We all do. But I will keep working to bring laughter and joy to this world to help those around me and myself.

Remember your loved ones! Cherish them! Share their memories! And keep moving forward with life.

TMNT Art Commissions! Great Holiday gift idea.

We have been so busy here lately with 2020.. being well.. 2020.. that the Holidays have snuck up on us.

My family is still going through a rough time, and even though we do have a GoFundMe I wanted to offer something else up to try and help us through these hard times. A friend recently reminded me that I do commissions.. I had a blast doing it, as it reminded me of something I enjoy! And it’s something that others can enjoy too.

If you’re interested in a commission, please do message me. I will do almost any style of Turtle (I think the only ones I can’t do justice too is the Bay Movie Turtles, have not drawn them enough… and want to be honest about that.).

It has been a little bit since I did a good update on my father. Though its hard to update when we have not been allowed to visit him since March 14th. We call daily as he went through a rocky two months. From `doing great` to `he’s crashing again`. From step down unit back to ICU. Two months of sitting here, wishing we could go hug him, talk to him and just see him. Let him know we are still here. COVID-19 took that away from us.

Not to say the Hospital didn’t try. We had nurses help from time to time as they would set up face time chats. Just so we could see him, it would excite us though as soon as we hung up we would all cry on how badly we want to go see him. Until this ban on visits, we were there almost every day. This is taking a big toll on all of us.
Last week a peek of good news came our way. A nurse told my mom she could visit, he’s allowed to have one visitor. Only one, same person each time. It was no question to any of us, that visitor is mom. She has been able to go and spend time with dad since late last week. Miki, Bryan and I are getting to see him through Skype calls from mom as she visits with dad.

He’s doing well right now. Still having breathing issues, though he’s awake. Trying to draw for the first time since he fell in October. He’s able to write to where we can read what he’s saying. Mom and him are spending time watching TV together, he knows his movies and actors. He’s himself.
I so wish I could go see him. I know the reasons they’re being careful. But I miss my dad so much. I am happy to say that he’s doing well. I am so so thrilled that my mother can go see him. These pictures are all from this weekend.
He’s not better yet. So still asking for prayers as we hope that he keeps getting well as we do hope that he can come out of the Hospital some day. He told a nurse that he wants to keep living. We want him to have the best life. We want to make more amazing memories with him. I want to Thank EVERYONE for the prayers and good thoughts sent to him. I know he’s loved by so many and we are all so Thankful.

David Wise, the original writer for the 1987’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon passed away last night due to Lung Cancer. He was with family and friends and passed away peacefully.

David is an amazing soul who’s work will entertain millions for years to come through Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Smurfs, Chip & Dales Rescue Rangers and so many other awesome cartoons. His passion for writing, breathing life into characters we seen on TV and books will shine brightly and keep memories alive for many generations.

For Ninja Turtles he gave us the word Cowabunga and got them to be the pizza loving characters that many of us know them as. If not for David’s writing, who knows how many of us would’ve became the fans we are today. He helped shape the history of Ninja Turtles and will remain one of the founding character creators that fans will know and love. True he did not write the comics, but many characteristic behaviors that were developed for the 1987 series by David Wise has stayed true to the Ninja Turtles through the different movies, TV shows and comics. He made an impact on the Ninja Turtles that remain a part of them to this day.

One of the most amazing people that I have had the honor to meet a few times in my life. Caroll Spinney truly has a heart of gold that will live on for many years to come.

It truly breaks my heart with the news of his passing. I will say my life will always be a bit brighter because of the few hours I had talking with him. And I will never forget what an amazing energy he had surrounding him.

Thank you Caroll for bringing so much joy to the world.

Okay, so I’ve seen a few comments calling BatMike, Turtle Titan. This is to show that they are not one in the same. BatMike is from Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the new movie. And Turtle Titan is from the 4Kids Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 to 2009 series. And as we learned in “Turtles Forever” different sets of Turtles are not the same Turtles. And could always have a chance of meeting. So here is how I see if these two were to ever meet.

Had a good time at Motor City Comic Con for day one. Got to hang out with Usagi and watched April (Judith) do an awesome panel about her career.
Judith has been just amazing at this event so far and it’s been one day. So happy to say hi and talk with her. She is really a wonderful person with a big heart, a lot of laughs and amazing stories to share!
